As a filmmaker, I'd always indulged myself in creating the more horrific of movies. Films about murderers, films about gangs, films about monsters; you name it, I've probably made it. It was only when the paranormal came into play I was clueless.

My parents never believed in ghosts. They claimed they couldn't be real because science hadn't proven them so. I grew up with the same ideologies. However, the idea of ghosts was a fascinating one, and I regularly imagined myself shooting a documentary on them. Not one of those ghost hunting TV shows, but a proper documentary.

Nevertheless, it was an unimaginable idea. I had no experience with ghosts, and even if I did the creation of a documentary was an ocean I hadn't dipped my toes in yet. I would be way out of my depth.
