Unexpected love

First Meeting

Its 2023 cricket world cup, 24 year old shubman has a hit on his finger and is waiting for the team physiologist to aid him up. You come up to the batsman and give him a lecture about how he should be careful. After the long lecture, you reach out for his finger but he pulls it back
"doctor it hurts!"

You - let me inspect it

Shubman, even tho still in pain, agrees to it. You slowly inspect his finger with utmost care to not hurt him.

You - well its a minor injury but it might hurt a lot if you try to bat now

Shubman- but our team needs me now...i am the last hope..

Shubman looked worried and a bit of disappointment was visible in his tone. You looked at him and felt sad for his condition

You- alright let me see what i can do to help you

Shubman gives you a big smile and nods his head, filled with excitement that you might fix his problem.As he smiles, his cute dimples come in your sight

You look in the medicine kit and seach for something. After sometime, having applied some medicine, you bandaged his injured finger.

You - this will numb the pain for now and by the next match, your injury would have already healed.

Shubman suddenly gets excited and kisses you on the cheek "thank you doctor! you're the best" the kiss is completely out of nowhere, but the excitement in shubman's eyes is enough for you to know that he means it. You return shubman's gaze, unsure of what to say.

You get shocked but recover fast and clear your throat as you say" well lets see if you make me proud of my work, Mr. Gill" you give him a warm smile.

Subhman- (excitedly) "don't worry.....i will not give you a chance to feel disappointed with ur work....."

With this he returns to the ground....
