Chapter 48

After the final exams, winter vacation was about to begin. Our last exam was a simple elective, and  I finished it early, leaving the exam room. Jungkook was already waiting for me outside.

Jungkook's face today had a slightly gloomy expression. He held my hand and said, "I'll walk you home".

"Okay", I replied, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek, which seemed to improve his mood slightly. Both of us were feeling down because the winter vacation meant not seeing each other for  over a month. However, I couldn't stay at school for too long since I hadn't seen my dad in several months.

Jungkook pulled his suitcase ahead of him as we walked, and we hadn't said much to each other for a while. When we reached the bus stop, Jungkook finally spoke up, sounding somewhat troubled: "Promise me you won't drink when you get home".

I was taken aback for a moment but then hugged his arm and said with a smile, "I promise, I promise. You're more overbearing than my dad".

Just as we were talking. The bus arrived. I got on ahead of Jungkook, but as I stepped onto the bus, I felt someone pat my buttocks. I thought it was Jungkook and turned to look at him in surprise.

At that moment, Jungkook was glaring intensely at someone next to me. His face as dark as thunderclouds. I followed his gaze and saw a middle-aged man with a creepy grin staring at me, which startled me.

Wait, did that man just....?

The thought of possibly being harassed by that guy made me feel nauseous.

Sensing Jungkook's murderous gaze, the creepy man shrank back.

Jungkook stood at the bus door, hesitating whether to get on or not. The impatient bus driver asked, "Are you getting on or not?"

"In a moment", Jungkook replied, pulling his luggage aside. Then he did something that caught everyone's attention on the bus.

Out of nowhere, Jungkook grabbed the creepy man's arm and pulled him off the bus. A creepy man's arm and pulled him off the bus. A horrifying scream echoed from outside, and then Jungkook quickly returned to the bus and nodded to the driver, saying, "Let's go".

The bus driver was stunned for a few seconds but eventually drove away.

Everyone on the bus started staring at Jungkook. He nonchalantly walked up to me, circled behind me, and lifted handrails above practically enveloping me with his body. I could sense his strong and steady heartbeat against my back.

The tiny flame of curiosity inside me couldn't be contained any longer, so I asked, "What did you do to that guy just now?"

Jungkook casually replied in my ear, "Nothing much, I just took his arm off".

"Just....took his arm off......." I thought, feeling slightly horrified.

After a while, Jungkook's voice sounded bitter and said, "I hadn't even touched that cute butt".

I was left speechless.

Considering Jungkook's current mood, I did something unusual and leaned into him, lightly brushing against him, and whispered, "Well, someday you might".

Jungkook suddenly embraced my waist, pulling me tightly against his body. He nuzzled my neck with his chin, breathing heavily in my ear, his voice. "Lili, you're better marry me soon".

I couldn't help but feel embarrassed. This was on a public bus, after all. Couldn't he be a bit more discreet?
