"It was when she's on her way to the restaurant. That jerk dared to drive himself home in his drunk condition.." she clenches her teeth. "She's so excited just to celebrate a birthday, which I didn't do for 3 years because of my work," she sobs. "I'm such a horrible parent."

He can feels the lump in his throat.

"I'm happy when I read your texts telling her that you have something to tell her. I thought she finally found a close friend."

Jimin looks away, preventing her mom to see his tears.

"But when I scrolled further, I found out that I was wrong." She wipes her tears off. "I finally knew that.. s-she has been so lonely all this time."

"I'm sorry." His voice shakes. "I should've trusted her."

"No, you shouldn't be sorry. It's my fault. I never had time for her." She tries to smile.

"But I didn't even trust her! I ignored her, I didn't reply to any of her texts when I can. I'm so wrong.." he finally cries. "I'm so wrong.."

Suddenly, he feels someone holds his hands. He looks up, and with his blurry vision, he sees Joohyun's mom smiling at him.

"I'm sure of one thing Jimin-ssi. If she wakes up and sees you, she must be so happy. Like really." She says. "She'll forgive you, trust me."

"B-But.."

"It's okay if you ignored her because she hurt your best friend, if that's the truth. But if it isn't? You can't just apologize then go away from her life, because you regret. The only thing that she needs is for you to he by her side."

"So please, stay. It'll be more than enough."
