let our warmer bodies unfold in between the bedroom sheets and sink in the only religion we know-- lust ; hoping it revives us from our past sins / we drench our messy souls in gasoline so that when the fluorescent citylights touch our skin, we can burn tenderly and call it afire love / we dance in old hotel rooms and paint each other in technicolour beats / we map each other's anatomy and build pavements and small towns from it so we can stop telling ourselves that we're lost / our hearts vandalize youthful skin in each other's name dedicated to these halcyon days that we will never forget / because i heard that's what lovers do.
