My last week on trauma surgery was as underwhelming as the others, until Thursday. I got to put a stitch in bowel!!! THAT was the highlight to my month. I also got to teach a medical student how to scrub into the OR and how to move around in the OR. I really enjoy teaching the medical students. It helps me realize how much I've learned (and how much I need to learn). I also was able to teach a medical student how to close an open abdomen. That is one of my favorite things about surgery. I love to put things back together. I am relieved to be done with this rotation, simply because of the lack of inertia it provided. I never thought I would feel so tired from doing nothing. Now for the fun to begin next week.

Short update I know. Any questions any of you have that I might be able to elucidate for you about medicine or what it is like to be a doctor? Post in the comments and I will answer.
