your speaker blared 2000's music from your shared playlist with your girlfriends as you sat in front of your vanity mirror getting ready for the big game.

you looked over at your phone and did a time check. 4:25, the game started at 7:30, but the cheer squad had to be there an extra 30 minutes early to go over the stunts again. you had plenty of time to style your hair and do your makeup.

you had also thrown your uniform in the dryer for a couple minutes just to warm it up. as the night droned on, it was supposed to get a little colder than usual, and the most you were allowed to wear to keep warm without covering your uniform were some leg warmers that matched your outfit. you just hoped you'd be stunting enough to activate some body heat.

as you plugged in your curling iron and started grabbing your makeup products, your phone started to ding, each notification sounding through your speaker, cutting off the music.

you opened your phone to see that it was the cheerleader & football groupchat that clyde and bebe had created last year for no apparent reason. almost everyone in it was active and typing away, discussing after game plans and what the girls were doing for makeup, and what gatorade flavor butters should bring for the water jug.
