I can't believe I've been working as a pediatric nurse for almost a year! I get a raise by then too so obviously I'm excited for that. I feel a lot more comfortable in my job than I used to. I used to arrive like 30 min before my shift to look up my patients, but I simply don't need to do that anymore. Of course there are some situations I still haven't been exposed to, but for the most part, I know how to do my job.

My hospital's hiring freeze is over and they just opened their application for nurse residents again. My supervisor was hinting for ME to orient new grads. I love teaching people so I don't mind the idea, but I also feel like I'm new myself...

I also am wondering where I should go from here in my nursing career. There are so many different paths I could go down and I have no idea where to go from here. I do want to go back to school at some point, but it's also very expensive. I want to make sure I'm getting a degree I actually need for my future.
