Chapter 8- Romeo And Juliet

"It's me-e... Min-young" I felt my body stiffen. I was unable to process what to do. The memories when I almost died flashed in front of my eye. My hands started to sweat and my heart started beating faster each second

"Stop! I can never trust you after what you did!" I warned sternly and was about to disconnect the call when she said,

"Y/n-n don't! He'll-l kill me-e if... you don't-t help me-e" She was shivering with fear 

"I'm not going to fall for it this time" I replied

"Y/n-n please-e! He'll-l... kill me-e first-t and then-n come after you-u and your-r family" Her voice sounded different this time. It was difficult to figure out if she was actually lying or not but remembering what she did in the past, the way she tricked, made me change my mind

"I'm not believing your lies anymore, Min-young. Don't call me after this" Not giving her a chance to speak, I disconnected the call

"Mr. Vice Chairman, why is every bad thing happening to us?" I whispered looking at his figure in deep sleep. The sofa was big enough for two people. Climbing on it, I gently laid down next to him, gently caressing his face

"I'll protect you and everyone, I promise" Gently kissing his forehead, I drifted into deep sleep soon

[Time skip: Next morning]

"Y/n-ah, where's my blue check-print tie?" I heard Mr. Vice Chairman yell from the bedroom. Nothing new, just us getting ready for office early in the morning

"Fourth cabinet, third shelf from top right" I yelled back while frying the eggs 

Minutes later, he came out, perfectly dressed up in his suit. Taking a seat on the chair next to me, I served him his breakfast

"Y/n-ah, give me a glass of water. Once done, sit and eat with me" He said making me nod. Taking a glass, I started to fill it up with water. Once done, I was about to give him the glass just then I heard a news play on the television 

"Last night, Min-young who was arrested two years back for attempt to murder, was found dead inside an abandoned construction site, last night"

The glass dropped from my hand, breaking it into pieces as I stumbled a few steps. Taehyung immediately rushed towards me, helping me stand properly

"Y/n-ah, you okay? Shit, your legs are bleeding" He spoke making me come back to reality. I realized that I was standing on a few pieces of glass, causing my feet to bleed. Tears rolled down my eyes, not because of the pain but because of what I just saw on the TV

"Let's go to the bedroom, I'll clean the wounds" He said picking me up in bridal style, walking towards our bedroom 

"Whatever she said was true" Was the only thing I could say making him confused but he kept walking. Gently making me sit on the bed, he was about to get the medicines but I stopped him

"Y/n-ah, I need to treat your-" 

"She was telling the truth, Mr. Vice Chairman" I said 

"Who was telling what? Y/n-ah, look at me and tell me everything" He asked gently cupping my face, that's when I told him everything, the phone call last night and all. 

"Y/n-ah, wait here, I'll inform this to the police and then treat your wounds" He said leaving the bedroom

Minutes later, he entered the bedroom with a first-aid box

"Did you inform them?" I asked

"I did, they'll look into it. I think I should stay at home today" He replied

"No, you have a couple of important meeting today, you can't miss them" 

"Is meetings more important than your safety?!" He yelled 

"Mr. Vice Chairman, I'll be fine. You have an entire company to manage. Thousand people's live depends on each decision you make. It's better to save a thousand lives than just one live" I comforted him

"Promise me, you'll be fine" He said warmly embracing me in his arms

"I promise, I'll be fine"

Taehyung's POV:

Burying my face in my hands, I couldn't stop thinking about Y/n. Whosoever that person is, he is after Y/n and that's for sure. But this time, I will protect her at all cost. I will fight for the person I love. I will protect my love. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard my phone buzz. Checking the caller id, it was from Y/n. I immediately picked it up

"Hello? Y/n-ah! You okay? Did something happen? How-" She cut me off by saying

"Mr. Vice Chairman, I'm okay! Did you have your lunch?" 

"I did, did you?" 

"Yes, I-" she was cut off by the door bell ringing in the background 

"Y/n-ah, who is it?" I asked

"Wait, let me.... ah, it's a delivery. I'll call you later" 

"Yes, take care" I said disconnecting the call

[Time skip: 7pm]

"Taehyung, it'll be okay" Seokjin Hyung tried comforting me but it was of no use

"No! You don't understand! Y/n never does that! No matter how busy she is, she at least answers her phone!" I said back. 

"Taehyung, Jimin went to check right? Let's wait and see, hmm?" Namjoon Hyung spoke

"I shouldn't have left her alone, I shouldn't have" I mumbled to myself trying not to breakdown. Negative thoughts started gathering in my mind. No, she'll be okay, right? My phone started buzzing with the caller id of 'Jimin'

"Hello? Jimin! Where's Y/n!" I immediately asked

"Taehyung, it's not good" 

"What do you mean it's not good?!" I yelled

"The lock on your main and bedroom door are broke and.... Y/n isn't here" 

Not wasting a second, I got up. I grabbed my coat and car keys. My Hyungs kept asking me to calm down but no, I can't afford loosing her. I can't

Just then, my phone rang once again. My steps halted the moment I saw the caller id, 'Y/n-ah' 

"Hello?! Y/n!? Where are-"

"She's doing just fine, Mr. Vice Chairman but I don't know how long she'll be doing fine?" A voice spoke up from the other side

"You. If anything happens to her-" he cut me off by saying,

"Or what huh? You know, I'm in the mood to recreate a drama today, 'Romeo and Juliet' but with a twist. It won't be Romeo who'll be dying this time, it'll be Juliet" He said and started laughing and disconnected the call

"Hello?! Hello!" I tried calling again but of no use 

I should've never left you alone, Y/n-ah. You promised me you'll be safe. Why can't you keep one promise?
