The opportunity had come and gone,
Leaving me with a heart so torn.
A chance to make my dreams come true,
Now lost forever, what will I do?
The regret haunts me every day,
As I watch success slip away.
Why didn't I give it my all?
Now I'm left with a heavy toll.
The chance I had was there, so near,
An opportunity I held so dear.
But I blinked, and it was gone,
A chance to shine, forever done.
All my hopes, my dreams and desire,
Were in that opportunity to inspire.
But now it's lost, I cannot deny,
All I can do is break down and cry.
The chance to reach for the stars,
To break free from all these scars,
Was mine for the taking, or so I thought,
But now I'm left with a heart so distraught.
