Amanda's point of view

To say I was trembling when I arrived was an understatement, the flight itself combined with the idea of meeting her family was just the most stressful combination. Yet I found the strength to stop at the public restroom of the airport to refresh myself a little. Looking like shit right now wasn't even a possible option.

Once I stepped outside, the coldness harshly hitting my face, I rapidly gave a call to Isabelle's sister in order to indicate her that I had arrived.

"Hey, on you're right!" the woman that still basically was a stranger to me indicated me with excitement filling her voice.

It didn't take me long to spot that woman and rapidly join her with my old suitcase, feeling my palms getting a little sweaty around the handle.

As I was coming closer I could remark all those physical similarities she had with her sister, including the dimples.

"I'm so happy to finally meet you!" She exclaimed, taking me in her arms before I had the occasion to reply, obviously surprising me a little.

"I am too! I can't believe I'm in Germany. Thank you so much for inviting me." I joyfully replied, immediately feeling comfortable around her, which was a relief. The fact that we had been exchanging a few texts before surely helped a bit as well.

A teasing smirk appeared on her face as she took my suitcase and bent forward a bit.
"I bet she's gonna cry."

She had contacted me the night when Belle announced our relationship to her family a few days before Christmas, which I honestly hadn't expected at all. Her idea had immediately been to drag me here as a surprise, it would also be the occasion to meet her family like she said.
Keeping the secret from her for that long had been so freaking hard, but I knew it would be worth it.

"Let's go! They'll begin to wonder where I went." that woman uttered, motioning for me to take a seat as she herself joined the driver's one.

"So, how are you feeling?" She questioned me after a few seconds, her gaze shared between the road and my flushed face I could see in the outside rear-view mirror.

Too many feelings were boiling in my heart at that very moment, the main ones being excitement and fear and I've had the chance to discover that it wasn't a good mix.

"I don't think I have been that nervous in my entire life. I might just throw up at your parents' feet before collapsing so please, be ready to catch me before I hit my head on the ground and just die in my vomit."

A low chuckle coming from her side almost startled me.

"She was right, I already adore you."

The past week had left me with such a pleasant feeling, knowing her family accepted me even before meeting the weird and stupid person I was. And those words only made this feeling in my chest grow bigger, erasing a bit of my fears in its way.

"Also don't be nervous, my parents will love you as well. Our dad can be a little intimidating at first but I swear he's a big teddy bear inside."

I thankfully nodded at those informations, mentally writing in a part of my brain to remember to not totally freak out if he gave me a death glare. I clearly felt better now.

When we parked in front of a house built in the architectural style of the country my heart missed a beat as I came to the slow realization that we had arrived.
Isabelle was inside, along with her parents I clearly wasn't ready to meet.
