Eye Wrinkles

I sit on my rocking chair,
Enjoying the scene,
Before me is the sky,
The clouds,
they seem to paint pictures,
Frames of my life pass before me,
And I can't help but smile,
It wasn't a happy smile nor a sad one,
But I could feel the years that I've lived in my heart in that moment.
I squint.

In flows the melodies of youth before me,
In my heart I feel a heaviness,
Not of stress or of wanting,
But of indescribable memories.
The flowers, the trees, they all seem to live along side me,
As I have long finished this race called life,
And I can now sit back and simply exist.
It seems almost unreal,
Euphoric.
My skin creases.

I feel one with the soil and the earth that moves underneath me,
Maybe my body is preparing to return to where it once came?
I can hear and see everything in this hazy morning sun,
Beautiful,
Was this what life was meant to be?
One thing tells the tales of my life,
It says that though I've been through years of hurt,
I've smile along the way,
I've lived,
I've gotten through it,
I've succeeded,

Eye wrinkles.
