I've travelled to other inns every night and eavesdropped on conversations. Most of the gossip turns out to be fake but some caught my interest and I went to confirm it. Turns out, it is true that a group of bandits sneaked into the Lupis Kingdom and is taking refuge in the slums.
In addition, the rumour that I started is spreading like wildfire, some even thought of stealing from the Amani inn but no one came.

Jumping from roof to roof, I avoid detection by knights on patrol and reach the slums.

A group of people loitering around the alleyway catches my eye when I notice the machete and swords they possess.

I ignore them and continue searching around the slums until finally... I came across an ordinary-looking group of bandits who pretends to be mere beggars.

They gather together and are wearing convincing ragged clothes. But without an appraisal, I can detect the weapons under their coat and one of them is a one-star.

When I look at the tallest beggar sitting near the road, an appraisal is activated.

I smile and jump down on the opposite side of the road. My hand glows as I touch my throat, temporary changing my voice to Kazuki's.

Slowly walking the empty street, I approach them as they all gaze up at my presence.

"Have you guys heard of the fortune of the Amani inn?" I say.

I throw a bag of gold on the floor. "This is a deposit, the Golden Wind inn will pay the rest. In addition, you get to keep the fortune as well."

The one-star warrior man smiles, he throws a glance at the rest who nods.

He pulls back the hood to reveal himself as a middle-aged man with a beard.
"Consider it done within a week." He says.

"Two days. Get it done by then." I reply.

The man rubs his chin and finally agrees with my condition after a few minutes.

As I jump back on the roof, I smirk when I see light coming from the royalty section.

Now then, what else shall I do as "Kazuki"?

As expected, I got nearer to the light and it is coming from the red-light district of the royalty section.

There are many things that I've forgotten over the last 10 years and I'm starting to remember them bit by bit. Kazuki was originally the bastard and the black sheep of his family. He would frequently visit the red-light district with the son of a Baron family, Joseph Kieden.
One day, during his usual antics, a drunk Kazuki tried to assault the daughter of a Viscount, resulting in the brother sending Kazuki into a coma for 1 year.

And when Kazuki woke up, he had permanent memory loss. However, Kazuki turned into a new person with monstrous talent and a pleasant personality.

Most of them have forgotten about Kazuki's past deeds so let's remind everyone, shall I?

I leap towards the red-light district.

The red-light district is filled to the brim with people, most of which are concealing their identities with a hood or a mask.

A small mist of aphrodisiac lingers in the air and I can detect faint seductive magic. I can see that many patrons already have a pink glowing heart "mark" on their bodies although humans should not be able to see them, those marks belong to succubus and it's a way of telling another succubus to fuck off. In short, it is something similar to territorial marking.

I look around in search of a tall and glamouring gold brothel that stands out from the rest. When I see it just up ahead, it's blatant that the gold brothel is stealing all the "business" from the sheer number of patrons.

A succubus, wearing thin black dressings, at the entrance waves at me and taps on her lips, sending kisses.

I walk to her and she smiles. "Welcome honey~"

However, the moment the light shines on my face, she froze.
"K-Kazu... Esteemed guest, w-what are you doing here today?" She says. "I thought you stopped visiting us."

I smile at the Succubus. "Why?" I say.

"N-No! Welcome!" She opens the door and I enter.

On the first level is a restaurant of some sort, people who "had their fun" or vice versa gather here for a drink.
Pulling back my hood, the noisy ambience in the brothel softens a little.

...

A passing succubus waitress glanced at me before quickly walking away.

"Isn't that...Kazuki? From the Astral family."
"He's back? That guy has been gone for a long time."

Small gossip sparks here and there.

There's another reason why I'm here.

Looking up, I see a lady with long purple hair and red eyes on the second floor glancing at me through a small gap in a window.

There she is...

Walking past everyone, I approach the stairs at the end of the building where a few people are stationed. They immediately stop me from advancing when they see me. "Stop, lady Belscari is having an important meeting with an ambassador of the Church of Axis. The entire upper floor is reserved."

I show them a piece of paper from my coat. One of the men flips the paper open and widens his eye. The paper has an inscription that directly translates to important matters that cannot be delayed and in the end, is the crest of the Astral family stamped.

The guard signals the one beside him to come closer and he whispers something, the second guard nods and walks up the stairs.

A few minutes later, he returns and nods.
The man folds the paper and hands it back to me. "Proceed, but be courteous."

I nod.

I step ahead up the stairs.

*thud*

Unintentionally, a smirk widens on my face as the paper in my hand fades into a mist of mana.
