CHAPTER 29 - Rivals

Just a normal day at the bakery with my dad. Delivering pastries around town. Then I bumped into Gloria.

"Watch it. Oh it's you." She said,

"Gloria?" I asked.

"Why? Couldn't you notice me with the dress?" I could just slap her.

"What's with the dress?" I asked

"Oh nothing, just want to impress someone." She answered.

"Who is it?"

"It's Camilo....."She replied "Oh and by the way, you and Camilo wouldn't be a good match." She teased, walking away.

"You guys are nothing, if I didn't introduce Camilo to you." I talked back.

She turned back at me. "Yeah, you're right and thank you."

"He doesn't like you anyway. You're just wasting your time." I said. Teasingly.

"Yeah? And how do you know?"

"It's obvious," I whispered. Leaning towards her face.

"Well if he doesn't, I'm going to make sure he does." She answered back. "Whoever gets his heart, wins." she walked away.

Oh, it is on.

"Hey." Mirabel came up to me. "Is that Gloria? Did you guys talk?"

"Y-yeah we did." I answered.

"What did you guys talk about?"

"Um- we- I told her Camilo doesn't like.......her."

"Uh- w-what did she say?"

"She said that... she'll make sure he likes her back..."

"No, no, no, no. You're not going to let her do that don't you?"

"Um-"

"Come, let's follow her." She grabbed my hand and dragged me.

"There she is. She's talking to him again." Mirabel whispered.

"Mirabel?" Someone said, "What are you guys doing?"

"Dolores! Hi! Um we were just um-"

"Spying?"

"W-well...yeah."

"On Camilo?"

"Mhm."

"Well.... I can....help...you guys."

"Uh. Okay?"

She went and hid with us under the bush. Why would she want to join and spy with us....?

"Okay. What are they talking about?" Mirabel asked.

"She said 'we should hang out more'" Dolores said.

"Okay. What else?" Mirabel asked.

"Oh and she said that...."

"What?" Mirabel asked.

"Um- she said that y/n is a liar and so can't be trusted. Oh and that she also likes Miguel."

"What?" I asked.

"What?" Mirabel asked. "She probably just did that to make Camilo upset, sad, or confused. And also to ruin their friendship." She added.

"I-it's fine, Camilo wouldn't believe her." I said.

"So, what are you going to do?" Dolores asked.

"I have a plan." Mirabel said with an evil smirk.

"Why is she looking like that?" I whispered to Dolores.

"I don't know. Is she going to kill her?" She whispered back.

"We'll kidnap her! And lock her in a secret room...." She said,

"Um- No. We are not going to do that." I said.

"Maybe just tell him?" Dolores said.

"No. We have to think of a plan to get rid of Gloria. Then we'll tell him." Mirabel replied.

"W-wait." I said. "Does she know?" I whispered to Mirabel.

"I know everything." Dolores said. She walked away.

Well that was awkward, weird, and embarrassing...
