cherry blossoms

I was yours and you were mine.
Walking side by side,
holding each other's hands under the cherry blossoms.
"I need a hug," you said.
So I pull you in,
wrapping my arms around you.
"You're safe."
I don't think I've ever loved somebody as much as I've loved you.
I don't think my heart has longed for anyone as much as it has longed for your heart.
I don't think my soul has been more understood by anyone other than you.
I loved you.
You loved me.
I woke up... Another dream, I huffed.

I see you with her.
Walking side by side
under the cherry blossoms.
And this, is not a dream.
