I loved you
knowing that you were no sunshine.
You were a thundercloud,
and I loved you exactly the way you were.
I loved the way you sheltered me
when the daylight got too strong;
The way you soothed my throbbing heart
by being the calming,
yet powerful downpour;
And the way you protected me
by being the fierce thunderstorm
to the ones who even tried to hurt me.In the end,
you proved that you truly were
a thundercloud.
