Chapter 5

Lei's POV

Shanghai, China

Lei's home (French Concession)

  "So, are Day and Ni Ni okay?" Kevin asks me. "Ummmm, well...". Now, I can feel Bo's stare burning a hole in the back of my head from the kitchen. " Yes?" Kevin prompts me to finish my thought. "Well, I got distracted the moment I saw Ty and I forgot to ask her if they were okay." Bo huffs. "In my defense, the conversation was cut short before I had the opportunity to ask about them." I finish up lamely. It's been 24 hours since my video chat conversation with Ty. I wish I could say that the conversation eased my mind...but it didn't at all, if nothing else, it made my mind go into a frenzy. "I'm sure Day and Ni Ni are okay. Back to the conversation you had with Ty. Is she okay?" Kevin's forehead crinkles with worry as he asks me about Ty. Flashes of Ambrosia with his hands and lips on her body enter my mind. A lump begins to form in my throat. Lei, hold yourself together for Ty. Be strong. As if sensing my inner turmoil over Kevin's question Bo walks out of the kitchen and takes a seat across from me in the living room. The lump grows bigger seeing Bo and Kevin waiting on me to answer the question. Focus on something . Immediately, my thoughts are consumed with the vase filled with pink roses and white peonies sitting on a table next to me. Every week a new vase of these flowers have been delivered to my house. Ugh, I tolerate flowers for special occasions, but this shit is too fucking much. I'll make sure to say something about it soon. After a few minutes of occupying my thoughts with pink flowers, the lump is gone and I'm able to respond.

With a big frustrated sigh I finally answer his question, "I get a video chat call from this random IM account. Something told me to pick it up, so I did. I see Ty, but she can't see me because she's blindfolded. Ambrosia was there too. He was kissing her neck and whispering in her ear. Ty just sat there still. Then, Ambrosia tells me he's been enjoying..." I take a deep breath to mentally prepare myself "'taking Ty over and over again'. I saw red. I swear when I see him I'm going to fucking kill him for ever touching her! Then, I'm going to bring him back to life just to fucking kill him all over again for ever messing Ty and the girls!" I'm fuming at this point. "There's more..." Bo guesses. "He tells me that he will be in Shanghai in a few days to do business with me. Then, he pulled Ty's dress down and began..." I can't bring myself to say it. "And then the video call was disconnected." Bo finishes up the sentence for me. Times like this make me appreciate Bo's cool demeanor and level head. He is not ruled by his emotions like me. Right now, Bo is lounging across my tan suede couch with his hands behind his head and feet on the ottoman. Knowing Bo, he is thinking of a masterplan right now to save our girls. Kevin, who was calm and collected a few moment ago, is pacing back and forth across the floor. I'm guessing that what I just said really unsettled him. I can only guess that he's imagining, the horrible stuff the Greeks are doing to Day. "We can't wait on Ambrosia. We need to act..." Kevin's rant is cut off from a ringing sound coming from my laptop.

  Ty is calling me. Immediately, my mouth curls up into a smile. Even though this situation that we are in is fucked up, I can't help but smile thinking that I'm going to talk to my baby. Bo and Kevin sit next to me on the couch as I grab the device and place it on my lap. I click the accept button on the video call. "Hello, I decided to give you another chance to talk to Ty." Theo Ambrosia smiles into the camera. The sight of his face upsetd me. Fuck him. "Before you fix your mouth to insult me, I would suggest you keep your mouth shut so I can give you a chance to talk to Ty." he finishes up. "Where's Day and Ni Ni? Are they okay? Did something happen to them? You better not have put a hand on them!" Clearly Kevin doesn't give a fuck about what Ambrosia just said to me as he bombards him with questions. "I'll leave Ty to answer those questions for you. I'm giving you ten minutes to talk to her. I'm hoping this conversation will persuade Lei to make the right choice. Now, let me bring Ty to you." A moment later, Theo pushes a blindfolded Ty in front of the camera. Then, Theo leaves as another guy enters the room and removes the blindfold from her eyes. There is no seat, so she must stand. "Dude, what the hell?!" Bo says before covering his eyes and Kevin follows his actions. It only takes me a second to understand why they are covering their eyes... Ty is only wearing a lace bra and panty. I can tell from the look on her face she is extremely embarassed that the guys saw her dressed this way. I take one long hard stare drinking in her body. Her curvy legs, small waist and heavy breast. I feel myself growing hard. Down boy, down, but I can't help but to take a second look. Sorry, I can't help myself. As my eyes make it's way from Ty's breast to her face, I notice a handprint bruise on her upper right arm. "WHAT THE FUCK?" Ty jumps away from the camera. My outburst must have scared her. "Ty, come closer." She shakes her head. Ty knows that I saw the bruise. "Come closer, NOW." She is now eye level with the computer. Upon closer inspection, I observe that the bruise is dark red which means that it happened recently. "What happened?" I demand. Again, she shakes her head. "Don't make me ask again." She huffs. "Ummm, one of the guards snatched me up because I was trying to protect Day." she replies. Kevin stiffens next to me. "What were you trying to protect Day from?" I ask. Ty goes quiet and her eyes start to water. "Believe me Kevin, I really tried to protect Day, but Day kept on telling me she's a big girl. She said that you are going to come save her. That y'all were going to come to save us before it gets too bad." "Ty, what happened?" Kevin grits out and uncovers his eyes. "They...they...they've been injecting Day with drugs and getting her high. It's been going on for about four days now. Kevin, I swear Ni Ni and I tried to stop it, but the guards..." They've been injecting Day with drugs? It must be a part of Theo's plan to coerce Ty into whatever he says. Ty's eyes are shifting between Kevin and the vase of flowers next to him. She feels guilty. She glance at the flowers, then to me. Her face scrunches up. Before I can ask her what's wrong, Kevin picks up the vase and throws it across the room. Next, he flips over the small glass table next to the couch. And he keeps going and going. Finally, Bo decides to put him out of his misery and knocks him out. Kevin's body drops and Bo escorts him out of the room. I can't blame Kevin, if it was me I would have reacted in the same manner.  "Lei, the girls and I will be in Shanghai in three days. I'm going to see if I can persuade him to let the other girls go. I think his plan is to demand for a ransom in exchange for my life." Of course. He wants me to give up the empire in exchange for Ty's life. "Okay, but don't do anything stupid." "Define stupid?" Ty jokes. She's trying to lighten the mood. "For someone to be a PhD student, you sure can be dense at times." I smile. "Lei, I have to ask you a question. One of the guards gave me something... and I have to know in case that I don't make it through this whole ordeal... Are you..." I cut her off. She is going to make it through this and we are going to live happily ever after. "Ty, you're going to make it through all this. I know that this may be selfish to say. But, fuck it." I run my left hand through my hair slowly, tugging it. Its a bad habit of mines and a way to distract myself. I feel the lump returning to my throat. I cover my face with my hands in case I start to cry. "I can't let you go. I'm sorry, I wish I could so you wouldn't be caught up in this bullshit, but I can't, I love you too much. I had a taste of heaven on Earth and I refuse to go back to living in hell." I exhale. I stay like this with my hands covering my face for a minute. "Lei, you answered my question without me even asking it. I want a divorce." A divorce? My heart drops to my stomach. I open my eyes to seeing a photograph plastered across the webcam. Shit. " Ty, wait a minute." "No, Lei. Fuck you. I'll do everything in my power to get the Greeks to release Day and Ni Ni, but don't worry about saving me." I hear her voice say before she disconnects the call. What have I done?
